Charity Water

This blog is about a non-profit organization called Charity: Water. This organization is basically about making clean and safe water more available. They aim to “bring clean drinking water to every person on the planet”. So far, they have funded over 13,500 water projects in 22 countries. They aim to help developing countries who may not be able to afford to make improvements in their water conditions, because it can get expensive. It improves the community by reducing the chance of illness, providing more access to food, and helping economies grow.
Charity: Water started this because clean water is more serious than you may think. Unsafe water carries diseases that kill more people each year than any kind of violence. This is especially effects children because their bodies are more vulnerable to disease and cannot fight them as much as adults. Their website tells us that 30,000 deaths occur every week from unsafe water and the lack of good hygiene. Most of these are children. Improving the quality of water available can save many lives and also prevent a lot of sickness.
Charity Water started in 2006 and is still going strong today. They have helped over 4.5 million people and are still counting. It is a non-profit, so any profit is invested into organizations that have experience with water projects. Anyone who donates to this organization is kept up to date with where their money is going. At the end of last year, they had raised over 155 million dollars. All of this money is put towards making water safer for people all over the world.
You can help raise awareness and raise money for this organization by creating your own water project. The first step is to think of an idea. After that all you need to do is tell anyone you know and ask them to tell even more. People will donate and you just have to stick to it. You can also watch where donations are going. Some examples from the website of water projects are: eating rice and beans for dinner every night for a month, selling bow ties, running a Spartan obstacle course, and jumping into freezing cold water. The possibilities are endless, so if you’re willing you can certainly help them make a difference.

Big Cat Rescue

This blog is about an organization called Big Cat Rescue. I have greatly enjoyed researching this organization. This non-profit organization helps rescue and take care of exotic cats such as lions, tigers, leopards, cougars, and so many more. They aim to help reduce the amount of abuse wild cats are suffering because of captivity, extinction and the like. They are home to about 100 exotic cats that have been “abandoned, abused, orphaned, saved from being turned into fur coats, or retired from performing acts”. They realize the stress put on these animals and try their best to help relieve them and make them feel at home.

The bill called the Big Cats and Public Safety Protection Act is the most important they realize to help protect these animals from being captivated. They are working to reinforce the bill this year. This group has been working hard since November 4, 1992 and I hope to see them continue. They have saved many animals who were threatened, endangered, or even extinct now. These species include: tigers, lions, leopards, cougars, bobcats, lynx, servals, ocelots, caracals, jungle cats, and a geoffroy cat. They are located in the Citrus Park area of North Tampa.

For more information, you can visit their website. They provide photos, videos, stories, and information about the animals they have rescued. You can sign up for their newsletters to see their recent rescues and also keep you updated on certain cats and let you know how they are doing. They also offer tours so that you can personally see these wild cats. If you would like to get involved you can volunteer, recycle, donate, or buy some of their merchandise.

I support this organization 100% and am very excited to watch what they do in the future. It is a shame what animals have to go through and how badly some of them are treated. This group goes above and beyond in order to save these animals and keep them free and happy. Check them out and see pictures of these beautiful animals!

Defenders of Wildlife

In this blog, I am going to be talking about Defenders of Wildlife. Defenders of Wildlife is a non-profit organization that started in 1947. This group realizes the “value of wildlife and the natural world” whether they have utilitarian value to people or not. They aim to preserve habitats and help keep the animals happy in their environment. They focus “solely on wildlife and habitat conservation and the safeguarding of biodiversity”. The mission is to “protect all animals and plants native to North America in their natural communities”.

Defenders of Wildlife is staffed by a diverse group of people who are dedicated and passionate about what they do. They do whatever it takes to reach their goals. The approach is very “direct and straightforward”. They protect endangered species by changing policies and providing other solutions that are safer for them. Using whatever resources are available, this group goes above and beyond to help make a difference for many species that some people do not consider. They try to give alternatives to help people do what they aim to do without endangering any animals or plants. They aim for long-term solutions that will have a great impact in what they are trying to accomplish.

Their website provides information about different animals, plants, and habitats so that visitors can learn more about them. They also give information about the threats these species are facing today and how important it is to make a change. This group was listed as one of the best wildlife charities in 2006 and has continued to grow today. If you are interested in assisting the Defenders of Wildlife, you can visit their website. The website allows you to donate money to help them reach their goals, adopt an animal to watch after and see how they are helping this animal, and even become a member of the group to make an even bigger impact.

I personally hope to see them continue to make a difference and to grow because they are passionate in what they do and they don’t stop working toward their goals. I love everything they are about and am so happy to see all that they have done and am excited to see what they do in the future.

To Write Love On Her Arms

http://d.adroll.com/cm/f/out     This is a blog about non-profit organizations. I will explain various different organizations, what they stand for, their visions, and what they have accomplished. I will also be sharing my opinion about these organizations in each blog. The first organization I am going to talk about is called “To Write Love On Her Arms”.

To Write Love On Her Arms is a non-profit movement. Profits go toward providing hope, help, and motivation to those struggling with many different complications in life. Whether it is addiction, depression, or any other obstacle you are facing, this organization tries its best to aid you in getting the help that you need, or even just providing support if you are not ready to take the next step. This is a group focused on informing people about the different ways to help your problem and encouraging them to take the steps toward recovery, because nothing with get better if you do not make an effort to fix it.

I personally love the idea of this organization and have purchased some of their merchandise myself. I try to help people as much as I can to try to make even a small difference and to guide them to the help that they need. This idea of this movement is to show people that you are not alone in anything you are facing, and there are better days ahead. There is nothing wrong with asking for help and there are plenty of people willing to be there. To Write Love On Her Arms is a reminder that you will love and be loved and that your life does matter. They believe in better endings and resolution. This organization has shown me so much about how many people are facing similar challenges in life, and has definitely made in impact on my life.

This organization even goes beyond personal struggles and aims to help make the world a better and safer place. They believe we should be there for others and build them up instead of tearing them down. It is also about mending broken relationships you may have in your life, whether they be with family, friends, or significant others. This is, in my opinion, a wonderful organization that inspires people to chase dreams and be incredible. No one is alone and you are capable of anything you put your mind to. I support this organization one-hundred percent and hope to see them continue to make a difference in the world.
